may ask the Course Organiser to assist in reviewing your progress.
Part Two: The Training Placement
5. Induction: At the start of the placement your trainer and other members of
staff will induct you into the work of the practice. This will include the provisionand discussion of operational procedures of the practice along with any practice policies, clinical guidelines or protocols in use.
6. Employment within the Practice: You should be given a contract of employment by the practice and receive details of your working pattern and rota, which will give the arrangements for teaching as well as your on-call
commitments.
7. Protected Teaching Time: You will be provided with protected time for learning and discussions with your trainer and other members of the practice
within the normal working week, usually an average of three hours per week.
8. Meetings With Trainer: Your trainer will ensure that you can consult with
your trainer or a partner in the practice at all times when you are undertaking
clinical work in the practice, including out-of-hours work. Your clinical work will be reviewed regularly by a partner or your trainer - as a minimum at least twice a week. In addition to routine meetings, your trainer will reivew your progress with you at least at quarterly intervals. A note of such discussions will be kept, copies of which will be available both to you and your trainer.
